Credit Counseling
All individuals must complete a one hour pre-bankruptcy credit counseling session before filing. Dozens of companies offer the class online and over the phone.
A small fee applies, usually $10.00.

Meeting of Creditors
All individuals must participate in a meeting of creditors. The meeting usually occurs 30 days after filing. Don't get nervous, creditors rarely appear. A trustee will ask 8-10 general questions that can usually be answered with a "Yes" or "No". During COVID-19, the meetings are being held telephonically.
Debtor Education
A second class is required in order to receive a discharge at the end of your case. You can contact the same company you used for the credit counseling or the one below.
